Dog Training Services
I offer several options for dog behaviour problems and dog training and rehabilitation to clients. I also train the dog owner to understand dog behaviour, recognise the body language and teach methods to correct unacceptable dog behaviour
The time taken to cure dog behaviour problems is dependent on the type and severity of the problem that is being encountered, the number of dogs involved and travelling expenses.
A lot of minor behaviour problems can be addressed in one session, and a second session may not be required. It depends on the owner and how well and diligently they follow the advice given.
The methods I use have been used on many different breeds of dog over the years. They work.
Primary Session
The first session is usually 2 hours. We have a discussion of the problems, what the owner has tried so far and what you would like to achieve during and after the session.
That's me pictured with Pip on the left. Howdy!
I will observe the dog behaviour, assess the owner and the dog, and try to recreate the problem. Then I will work with the dog, identify the causes of the behaviour, and you may be shown several different dog training techniques to use. There is more than one way to crack a nut! I will make notes during the session and will email or post a written report after the session.
This is so that you have a hard copy of the dog training techniques that we covered and gives you something to refer back to when you are on your own. It is also a means of making sure that we are all working toward the same objective. A happy, calm and well-balanced dog and owner!
This will cost from £38 plus travelling expenses for a home visit. I charge travel expenses by the mile. If you are unemployed or on a low income I can offer terms to help you out.
Silver Star Half Day Training.
A half-day intensive session for you and your dog will be from £80 plus travel expenses.
I will ask you to list the behaviours that you wish to change. I have been presented with a list of fifteen items to cure so do not be reluctant to put everything on it. I will do my best to cover everything on the list in the time available. We will discuss what you have tried and what you would like to achieve during the session and in the future. You will be shown several dog training techniques with an explanation of the reasons I use them, paying particular attention to the owner's dog handling. It is a steep learning curve for dog and owner.
The techniques are simple but require a certain knack and good timing to get the desired effect. Most of the techniques are not treat-based. I want to use the dog's natural instincts to achieve the desired results. You will get a written report specific to your dog after the session and also general notes covering topics relevant to your case. Unlimited telephone support is included in the price. The German Shepherd pictured here wanted to fight Pip when it first got out of the car 2 hours earlier!
Gold Star Training Day.
A full day with intensive behaviour training for you and your dog or dogs will be from £150 plus expenses.
I will ask you to list the dog behaviours that you find unacceptable. Do not be reluctant to put everything on it. I will do my best to cover all of the list in the time available.
We will talk about what you want to achieve during the day and in the long term. I will explain how a dog whisperer works and how to understand a dog's behaviour paying particular attention to the owner's handling of the dog, how to read a dog's body language and why the dog behaves in certain ways.
The techniques are not complicated but may require a certain knack and good timing to achieve the best effect. I use the dog's natural instincts to get the desired results. After the session you will receive a written report specific to your dog(s) and also general notes covering various topics . Unlimited telephone support is included in the price.
The sessions will be in 4 parts with rest breaks and will cover a range of subjects depending on the problems being experienced by the owner.
